This single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc comes from the elevated Crownthorpe terraces of inland Hawke’s Bay, a region Daniel Brennan fell for after discovering Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc on his first weekend in the region in 2008. Inspired by the softer, more tropical style found here, this wine is made to showcase the richer, fleshier side of Sauvignon Blanc while retaining the unmistakable freshness of New Zealand. Fermented in stainless steel with two yeasts, the wine was regularly stirred on its lees throughout and after fermentation, building texture and richness while preserving its vibrant aromatics.
Lemongrass, kaffir lime and red grapefruit lead into nectarine, nougat and citrus rind, with bright peach, pineapple and plush orchard fruit on the palate. Driving acidity keeps everything fresh and mouth-watering, balanced by a subtle hint of fruit sweetness.
